Artist Maria Yoon has "married" the Mississippi River, a Cowboy Texan, Crystal as "Diana Ross" in a Las Vegas chapel, a Florida retiree, Cali surfer lady, and recently she married a Black Angus Cow in Nebraska.

Maria the Korean Bride challenges and explores the meanings of marriage as the artist documents her cross-country journey as a forever Korean bride in traditional Korean bridal garb. The ongoing performance brings attention to the pressure to marry experienced by the artist as a first generation Korean-American woman. The video project will includes random marriage proposals, interviews with various participants and mock wedding ceremonial performances with them. A fiscally sponsored project of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. When complete, the project will be a documentary film.
